Braille PrintersBraillo Norway developed the first double-sided (interpoint) Braille printer in the world, the Braillo 270, together with SINTEF, a Trondheim based research institute. The Braillo 270 printed 270 Braille characters per second. The first Braillo 270 was delivered to the Tambartun School for the Blind (Norway) in 1980. A smaller interpoint Braille printer, the Braillo 200, with a speed of 200 Braille characters per second was launched later. Currently Series III of the Braillo 200 is in production. The Braillo 270 was since developed into Braillo 400 S, Braillo 400 SR, Braillo 440 SW (Sideways) and Braillo 440 SW SF (Staple & Fold). The speed was increased by more than 50% from 270 Braille characters per second (cps) up to 440 cps for our two latest models, the Braillo 440 SW and Braillo 440 SW SF.
