Braillo Norway developed the first double-sided (interpoint) Braille printer in the world, the Braillo 270, together with SINTEF, a Trondheim based research institute. The Braillo 270 printed 270 Braille characters per second.
The first Braillo 270 was delivered to the Tambartun School for the Blind (Norway) in 1980. A smaller interpoint Braille printer, the Braillo 200, with a speed of 200 Braille characters per second was launched later.
The Braillo 270 was since developed into Braillo 400 S, Braillo 400 SR, Braillo 440 SW (Sideways) and Braillo 440 SW SF (Staple & Fold). Thus the speed was increased by 50%.
In 2013 we have again further developed the range of Braille printers and among others increased the speed by 50% again, into Braillo 300, Braillo 600, Braillo 600 SR, Braillo 650 SW (Sideways) and Braillo 650 SF (Staple & Fold).
There are a few units left of the Braillo 200, Braillo 400 S and Braillo 400 SR, which will be sold for a limited time only.
